Deputy House Republican Leader State Representative Vincent Candelora, UConn President Susan Herbst, lawmakers and industry partners attended a ribbon cutting to dedicate UConn’s Innovation Partnership Building (IPB) at UConn Tech Park located at 159 Discovery Drive in Storrs. The IPB is UConn’s premier center for state of the art equipment, cutting-edge research and cross disciplinary partnerships. This vibrant new facility houses academic/industry partnerships with diverse expertise ranging from manufacturing to biomedical devices to cybersecurity and more. The IPB’s unique resources foster research that drives the development of new and innovative ideas and technologies and that promotes the creation of new jobs and economic growth for the State of Connecticut. “Today was an exciting day for UConn and the State of Connecticut,” said Rep. Candelora.  “UConn’s impressive Innovation Partnership Building houses 10 industrial research and development centers that cover a diverse base, ranging from advanced manufacturing to biomedical devices and cybersecurity. This new addition will just add to UConn’s already prestigious reputation and I look forward to learning about their continued success in the future as they work to address the emerging needs of industry.” The ribbon cutting commenced at 11:00 a.m. and was followed by 12:30 p.m. by the 2nd UConn Tech Park Symposium, R&D Innovation Partnerships: Driving Connecticut's Future.
