Represenative Vincent Candelora Hails Finalists in “Teen Safe Driving” Video Contest from East Haven High School

Congratulations to Robert Fucci, Gabrielle DeRosa, Ryan Jones, Denonte McKinney and Theresa Vittorio, East Haven High School students, who made a video for the Department of Motor Vehicles for the “Teen Safe Driving” video contest. The students’ video placed them as finalists in the contest and was recognized Thursday evening, April 8th by the DMV. More than 300 students from 34 schools participated by submitting 25-second commercials about either teenage driving passenger restriction or distracted driving, such as texting behind the wheel. A panel of judges chose 11 finalists and the winning school received $4,000 and video equipment. Connecticut continues to combat distracted driving on roadways and gained further momentum thanks to high school students throughout the state, including these East Haven teenagers who finished as runners-up in the DMV video contest centered on the subject. Once again, congratulations to these East Haven High School students for their excellent creative efforts to keep Connecticut roadways safe.
