Public Information Meeting - Bridge on Harrison Road over I-91 in Wallingford The Department of Transportation (Department) will conduct a Public Informational Meeting concerning the proposed rehabilitation of Bridge No. 03127, which carries Harrison Road over I-91, in the town of Wallingford. The meeting will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 9, 2015, at Wallingford Town Hall, Room 315, 45 South Main Street.  Inclement weather date will be December 10. The purpose of the project is aimed at repairing noted structural deficiencies. This project will rehabilitate the bridge deck and paint the deteriorated steel superstructure. The concrete sidewalk, parapets, and substructure will be repaired as necessary. Construction will be performed in two stages while maintaining one 12-foot lane of alternating one-way traffic controlled by temporary signalization on Harrison Road. Temporary off-peak lane closures of I-91 will be necessary to perform certain activities.  Pedestrian traffic across the structure will be maintained for the duration of the project. Construction is anticipated to begin in spring 2017 and be completed in fall 2017 based on the availability of funding. The rehabilitation of this bridge is anticipated to be 80 percent federal funds and 20 percent state funds. The estimated construction cost for this project is $4.4 million. The Public Informational Meeting is being held to afford a full opportunity for public participation and to allow open discussion of any views and comments the community may have concerning this proposed project. The meeting facility is ADA accessible.  Language assistance may be requested by contacting the Department’s Office of Communications (voice only) at (860) 594-3062 at least five working days prior to the meeting.  Language assistance is provided at no cost to the public, and efforts will be made to respond to requests for assistance. Plans of the proposed project will be on display for public review. Department personnel will be available during the meeting to discuss this project. More detailed information is available at the department’s Office of Engineering, 2800 Berlin Turnpike, Newington, Connecticut, Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., excluding holidays. Anyone wishing to discuss the project may contact Ms. Lesgie M. Ruiz at (860) 594-3351 or by e-mail Lesgie.Ruiz@ct.gov. Plans are also available for review at the town.
