I would like to make you aware of some upcoming public hearings regarding the state budget and how you can participate. In the coming weeks, I will continue to keep you informed as we delve further into this budget adjustment year.
The Appropriations Committee will hold state agency budget presentations and public hearings from Monday, February 8, 2016 through Friday, February 19, 2016, to be held at the times and locations listed here - budget hearing schedule. I encourage you to check back often, in case information changes.
If you plan to testify at any of the state budget public hearings, please submit 30 copies of written testimony at the time of sign-up, but not later than 2:00 P.M. on the day of the hearing. Testimony received after the designated time may not be distributed to committee members until after the hearing.
If you cannot testify at one of the public hearings in-person but wish to submit written testimony, please email your written testimony in Word or PDF format to the committee at APPtestimony@cga.ct.gov and also copy my office on the email, Vincent.Candelora@housegop.ct.gov.
If you do not have prior experience testifying at a legislative public hearing, please follow this link, which explains the process.
I encourage you to check the General Assembly website, and click on the “Bulletin” to track any items you might be interested in.
I'm here to help with any questions so please contact my office at 860-240-8700 or Vincent.Candelora@housegop.ct.gov.
