In an effort to keep you informed, I wanted to share with you, the below press release issued by the Connecticut Department of Transportation (DOT) regarding a construction update for Wallingford along Route 150. Construction Update: Town of Wallingford – Route 150 Beginning on Monday, October 10, 2016, and concluding by Thursday, November 10, 2016, the Route 150 bridge between Main Street and South Broad Street in Wallingford will be closed entirely to traffic. Traffic will be detoured to North Colony Road and Church Street. The work will include, but is not limited to, installation and repairs of supporting bridge structures, such as retaining walls and joints. There will be construction noise throughout this period and temporary lighting to support overnight work in the area. Signs alerting the public to the road closure and detour routes will be posted. Traffic personnel will be in place throughout the duration of the closure. Additional detours will be necessary as part of the project. More information will be provided once a construction schedule has been finalized. This work is part of the overall upgrade of the New Haven-Hartford-Springfield commuter rail line – now branded as the CTrail Hartford Line – scheduled to begin expanded service in January 2018. Future updates on the status and location of construction activities will be provided on the NHHS Rail Program website at www.nhhsrail.com, Facebook, Twitter and by email.
