    THE PROJECT The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that a milling and resurfacing project on Route 71 in Wallingford. The project consists of milling and resurfacing a 0.83 mile segment of Route. The milling segment of this project is scheduled to be performed from Thursday, May 14, until Friday, May 15. The resurfacing segment of this project is anticipated to be performed Monday, May 18, until Tuesday, May 19. LANE CLOSURE INFO Motorists can expect lane closures on Route 71 from the junction of Route 150 (Main Street) to the Meriden town line. Traffic control personnel and signing patterns will be utilized to guide motorists through the work zone.  The regular work schedule for this project is Monday to Friday from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may be necessary, due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this vicinity. As always, feel free to contact my office if you have questions or comments related to state government.
