The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing the scheduled closure and detour of Route 22 to facilitate ongoing work activities for the construction of a modern roundabout at Route 1 and Route 22 in Guilford, Branford and North Branford.
The closure and detour will occur beginning at 6 p.m. on Aug. 15, and will remain in place through Aug. 20 at 6 a.m.
Route 22 northbound traffic will be detoured via Route 1 to Route 139 to Route 80. Route 22 southbound traffic will be detoured via Route 80 to Route 139 to Route 1. Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to remain alert, drive cautiously, and to maintain a safe speed when driving in this vicinity.
