State Representative Vin Candelora joined House Speaker Brendan Sharkey to announce the establishment of a bipartisan panel charged with helping cities and towns reduce their costs and increase efficiencies. The panel is a resurrection of the 2010 M.O.R.E (Municipal Opportunities and Regional Efficiencies) Commission that resulted in a set of new laws focused on encouraging regional cooperation. " We have explored greater regional cooperation at the municipal level in the past but it is especially important now, given the state spending constraints towns and cities are facing." MORE will underake its mission with four working groups:
    1. Municipal Tax Authority
    2. Board of Education Functions
    3. Regional Entities
    4. Mandates
Recommendations for legislation are expected to be ready in time for action prior to the end of this year's legislative session which ends on June 5th.
