The Connecticut Business and Industry Association (CBIA) held its annual Business Day at the Legislative Office Building on Wednesday, March 25. Hundreds of large and small business owners, public officials and concerned citizens filled the hearing rooms to talk about how Connecticut plans to do business in the coming years.
State Representative Vincent Candelora (R-86) sat on the panel for small businesses and told the group about legislation relevant to business owners that is defining the 2015 legislative session.
“My colleagues and I are actively working to promote and pass pro-business, common sense proposals here in Connecticut. This is the only way we can fully recover our job losses and relieve the tax burden on the middle class,” said Rep. Candelora.
Candelora feels that these interactions with business owners and residents helps to keep focus up in Hartford and better understand the needs of Connecticut business owners. The CBIA Day panel discussion is only a first step in an ongoing conversation helping Connecticut’s leaders identify and work to solve these companies’ challenges.
“We are facing some very difficult decisions with regards to our state’s budget, Connecticut faces a harsh financial situation – that is only more of a reason why we need to focus on creating pro-business legislation that stops us from being outperformed by our neighbors,” said Rep. Candelora.
