During a Board of Education meeting on July 19, State Rep. Vincent Candelora and Kelly Bettuchi from the AT&T Foundation presented a $10,000 grant to North Branford High School (NBHS). Rep. Candelora recommended NBHS to be considered for this award and the funds will be used to support high school students with disabilities and expand their skills in seeking out post-secondary education and training. The funds will also aid in an ongoing effort to close Connecticut’s achievement gap. “For many high school students, the reality of gaining work experience can be extremely challenging, and this becomes even more difficult for students with disabilities,” said Rep. Candelora. “I am thrilled that with the help of a $10,000 grant from AT&T, North Branford students with disabilities will now be able to receive work skills, gain real-life experiences and promote academic success.”
