Area Legislators Back Bills Promoting Manufacturing Careers

State Representatives Vincent Candelora (R-86) and Noreen Kokoruda (R-101) co-sponsored two proposals at the State Capitol to promote manufacturing careers in Connecticut.
The proposals, House Bill 5423, aims to better educate parents, guidance counselors and students about the exciting and advantageous careers in manufacturing and House Bill 5468, aims to establish a task force to study ways that improve Connecitut’s efforts to recruit manufacturing teachers.
Representatives Candelora and Kokoruda said these bills, which recently passed the House of Representatives, seek to re-introduce the manufacturing industry to middle-school and high school students through a hands-on, authentic industry experience along with ensuring Connecticut recruit top-tier manufacturing teachers.
These bills, aim to meet the needs of employers, create new middle class jobs, and grow Connecticut's economy. They both now await a vote in the state Senate.
