    Overnight Closures of Wasserman Way at Route 34 in Sandy Hook/Newtown and the Exit 11 On and Off-Ramp

    NEWTOWN- State Rep. Mitch Bolinsky (R-106) is informing Newtown residents CTDOT is announcing that Wasserman Way from Route 34 to Oakview Road and the I-84 Exit 11 on and off-ramps will be closed for overnight construction on Sunday, July 23 to Tuesday, July 25,2023.

    The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) is announcing that Wasserman Way from Route 34 to Oakview Road and the I-84 Exit 11 on and off-ramps will be closed for overnight construction on Sunday, July 23 to Tuesday, July 25,2023. There will be a full closure of Wasserman Way between Route 34 and Oakview Road and a full closure of the I-84 on and off-ramp at SR 490 Wasserman Way. The project consists of intersection improvements to Route 34 at SR 490 and Toddy Hill Road and SR 490 at the I-84 Interchange.

    The noted traffic shifts are scheduled to occur on Sunday, July 23,2023 to Tuesday, July 25,2023 for overnight milling and paving operations.

    CTDOT Project is scheduled to be completed on September 1, 2023.

    LANE CLOSURE INFO

    Wasserman Way in both directions from the intersection of Route 34 to Oakview Road and the I-84 Exit 11 On and Off Ramps in Sandy Hook/Newtown will be closed from 9:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. beginning Sunday, July 23 to Tuesday, July 25, 2023, for overnight work. Traffic will be detoured to Church Hill Road and the I-84 Exit 10 on and off–Ramp. As an alternate, I-84 East and Westbound direction can be accessed from Route 34 at Toddy Hill Road.
