This Wednesday, January 30, the bipartisan Task Force on Gun Violence Prevention and Children’s Safety will be holding a public hearing at Newtown High School at 6:00pm.
Created in the wake of the unspeakably tragic Sandy Hook shooting, the Task Force is charged with conducting a review of current law and making recommendations on a range of potential legislation to prevent gun violence, enhance school safety and improve mental health services in Connecticut.
While our families continue to heal and contend with this new reality, I want to ensure the General Assembly takes meaningful action — but the right action — to address these issues.
I encourage you to attend and give your input on how we can make our state safer and more secure.
If you are unable to attend but wish to submit written testimony for the public record, please send it via email to asaferconnecticut@cga.ct.gov
