Today, State Rep. Mitch Bolinsky (R-106) stood with thousands of Connecticut nonprofit providers who rallied at the State Capitol for additional state funding. These are the people that help support programs for substance abuse and mental health treatment, day and residential services for people with developmental disabilities and other vital services.
Our providers have been underfunded for more than a decade, and we will continue to advocate for increases that pay for services. The House Republican caucus has put forward a state budget plan which a 2.5% increase to nonprofit service providers and now we have heard the Speaker of the House has thrown his support behind that increase for our caregivers.
