    The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that a nighttime milling and resurfacing project will be performed on Route 34 (Berkshire Rd.) in Newtown and Monroe, beginning Friday, October 7, 2016.

     

    The project consists of resurfacing a 3.52 mile segment of Route 34 (Berkshire Rd.) in Newtown & Monroe.  This project is scheduled to occur from 10:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. Friday, October 7, 2016 to the morning of Saturday, October 8, 2016.

     

    LANE CLOSURE INFO

     

    Motorists can expect lane closures on Rt. 34 (Berkshire Rd.) between Washington St. and Rt. 111.  Traffic control personnel and signing patterns will be utilized to guide motorists through the work zone. The regular work schedule for this project is 10:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. (Friday Night).

     

    Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions.  Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this vicinity.
