    Please stay safe this evening.

Eversource is Ready to Respond to Tropical Storm Fay During Ongoing COVID-19 Pandemic

Energy company shares tips to help customers prepare

BERLIN, Conn. (July 10, 2020) – As Tropical Storm Fay moves up the East Coast, Eversource is closely monitoring and preparing for the high winds, heavy rains and possible flash flooding expected to impact New England Friday night into Saturday. While continuing to operate under its COVID-19 pandemic plan and adhering to its strict social distancing, hygiene and enhanced sanitation measures to safeguard the health and well-being of workers and customers, the energy company’s line and tree crews, along with its natural gas technicians, are ready to respond to any damage or outages caused by this storm.

    …

Eversource urges customers to always stay clear of downed wires and to report them immediately to 9-1-1. Be sure to report any outage online at www.eversource.com, or by calling 800-286-2000. Customers who signed up for the company’s two-way texting feature can send a text to report an outage and receive outage updates as they happen.

As flooding is possible, Eversource reminds customers flooding can cause damage to a home furnace or other natural gas appliances and some natural gas heating systems may be affected in the event of a power interruption. If flooding is severe, natural gas appliances should not be used until inspected by a licensed plumber or contractor. Once that is completed Eversource can turn gas service back on and safely relight appliances.

Additional preparedness tips can be found at Eversource.com.
