HARTFORD- Connecticut’s leading business organization, CBIA, recognized State Representative Mitch Bolinsky (R-106) with a perfect 2024 legislative voting score on key business, jobs and economic-growth oriented bills to shape Connecticut’s business climate and spur economic growth.  Rep. Bolinsky has earned a 100% score from CBIA in every one of the 12-years he has served in the General Assembly.

“We must always remember that it is people – innovators, entrepreneurs, and business leaders – who create jobs and economic opportunity – not state government.  The best things government can do to grow prosperity, good jobs and quality of life in our state is to facilitate collaboration & cooperation between the private and public sectors, and cut bureaucratic red-tape, said Rep. Bolinsky. “Over-regulating business only stifles growth by burdening it, making it difficult for businesses to thrive. Let’s not forget that job-creators are our neighbors – women and men risking their blood, sweat and savings to follow a dream.  Our state does best when we encourage their dreams, and help them achieve their full potential.”

The Connecticut Business and Industry Association (CBIA) ranked all state lawmakers based on their support for the business community’s positions on twelve important policy-bills that affect job creation, small business growth and economic stability in Connecticut.  The scorecard was calculated using select pieces of legislation voted upon in committees, the House, or both.  This year’s bills included:

    • Occupational Licensing SB 135  – An Act Establishing a Maximum Charge for Certain Occupational Licenses, Certifications, Permits & Registrations
    • Economic Development SB 250 – An Act Concerning the Global Entrepreneur-in-Residence Program.
    • Childhood Education HB 5002 – An Act Concerning Early Childhood Care & Education.
    • Sick Leave Expansion HB 5005 – An Act Expanding Paid Sick Days in the State.
    • Genome Sequencing HB 5367 – An Act Concerning Medicaid Coverage of Rapid Whole Genome Sequencing for Critically Ill Infants & Studies Concerning Elimination or Reduction of the Katie Beckett Waiver Program Waiting List & Medicaid Coverage of Diapers
    • Striking Workers HB 5431 – An Act Establishing a Connecticut Families & Workers Account.
    • Teacher Certification HB 5436 – An Act Concerning Educator Certification, Teachers, Paraeducators & Mandated Reporter Requirements.
