I wanted to let you know some important roadwork information if you, like me, live near or drive along Route 302 (Sugar Street & Dodgingtown Road) from Newtown to Bethel. As we all know, this state roadway is overdue for repair, improvement and repaving. The time is now and details appear below.

Please share this important notice with your friends and neighbors and remember to be careful in work zones. The inconvenience is temporary but the safety of workers is forever.

The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that a nighttime milling and resurfacing project will be performed on Route 302 in BETHEL & NEWTOWN.

The project consists of milling and resurfacing a 7.96 mile segment of Route 302 in BETHEL & NEWTOWN. This project is scheduled to occur from 8:30 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. Sunday, August 3, 2014 to the morning of Wednesday, September 3, 2014.

    LANE CLOSURE INFO
Motorists can expect lane closures on Route 302 between Rt. 53 and Rt. 25. Traffic control personnel and signing patterns will be utilized to guide motorists through the work zone. The regular work schedule for this project is 8:30 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. (Night shift-1st week) and 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. (Day shift).

Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this vicinity.

I hope this information has been helpful.
