    Meteorologists are predicting record heat and humidity over the next several days. To provide relief to folks whose health and well-being are at risk when temperatures rise, the Town of Newtown is opening cooling centers at the following locations:

    The Municipal Center – Fairfield Hills Campus

    Hours: 7:00 am to 8:00 pm

    Cyrenius Booth Library
    25 Main Street, Newtown

    Hours: Mon – Thurs 9:30 am to 8:00 pm
    Fri 11:00 am – 5:00 pm
    Sat 9:30 am – 5:00 pm

    Newtown Senior Center
    14 Riverside Road, Sandy Hook

    Hours: Monday – Friday 8:00 am to 4:30 pm
    Please try to stay hydrated and remember to keep pets out of the sun and hydrated as well. Please consider checking on any elderly or frail neighbors to be certain they are doing well.

    If you or someone you know is experiencing light-headedness or any health irregularities due to the heat and humidity, do not hesitate to call 911 for assistance.
