Bolinsky: Metro-North Schedule Changes 4/26

I want to alert you to upcoming changes on Metro-North.
Beginning Sunday, April 26, Metro-North is altering its schedule to optimize customer service and allow for necessary maintenance.
Under the new schedules, weekend travel times will be temporarily lengthened to reflect the impact of several critical maintenance projects. Adjustments will follow service guidelines and correct some customer service issues.
The weekday train that leaves from Grand Central Terminal and arrives in Danbury at 4:29 p.m. is returning to its previous schedule.
Metro-North customers traveling from Grand Central to Stamford will instead leave four minutes later on the 4:33 p.m. New Haven train, as they did before.
Metro-North will add a new through train to Danbury, departing Grand Central at 8:01 p.m., making stops in Greenwich, then all main line and branch stops from Stamford to Danbury.
The existing 9:18 p.m. shuttle from South Norwalk to Danbury is being replaced by this new through train. With this change, Danbury branch customers who work late will have the opportunity for a more convenient commute home at night, without having to change trains.
This new train will also take the place of the 8:03 p.m. train to New Haven. Customers on that train will be served by the 8:06 p.m. New Haven train and make stops at Stamford, East Norwalk, Green’s Farms, and Southport.
