    Dear Friends & Neighbors,

In an effort to help plan your commute for next week, I would like to advise you to expect delays on I-84 between the hours of 8:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 15th through Friday, October 17th. The Connecticut Department of Transportation (DOT) has implemented a nighttime maintenance project on the bridges over Hanover Road and Boulevard in Newtown and would like to prepare motorists for lane closures.

Please be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Impact attenuators, traffic control personnel and signing patterns will be working to guide travelers through the work zone, but please be sure to maintain a safe speed while driving in this vicinity.

    Thank you for your patience!

For further information, please see the DOT’s website at www.ct.gov/dot or call the DOT’s Office of Communications at 860-594-3062.

As always, if you have questions or concerns about state government, please do not hesitate to contact me at your convenience at 1-800-842-1423.

I hope this information has been helpful.
