Bolinsky: DOT I-84 Bridge Work Ongoing

The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing traffic shifts on Interstate 84 between Exits 11 and 13 that were originally scheduled earlier in the year will be completed by Wednesday, July 10, 2013 and be in effect until November 2013.

Two travel lanes will be available in each direction during peak travel times. Center Street, a local road, is scheduled to be closed to through traffic from Monday, July 15 until Friday, August 2, 2013.

The project involves the rehabilitation of Bridge Nos. 04255 and 04256 which carry I-84 over Center Street.

The rehabilitation shall consist of the replacement of the existing superstructures utilizing stage construction while maintaining. In order to accomplish this, Bridge No. 04255 will require widening in the median area.

I-84 Westbound

Monday–Thursday 7 p.m. to 6 a.m.

Friday 8 p.m. to 8 a.m. Saturday

Saturday 8 p.m. to 9 a.m. Sunday and Sunday 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. Monday

I-84 Eastbound

Monday–Wednesday 8 p.m. to 7 a.m.

Thursday 9 p.m. to 7 a.m. Friday

Friday 9 p.m. to 8 a.m. Saturday

Saturday 8 p.m. to 9 a.m. Sunday and Sunday 9 p.m. to 7 a.m. Monday

DETOUR INFO:

Center Street CLOSED Monday, July 15 through August 2, 2013.

No through traffic between Underhill Road and Lake Drive. Traffic detoured to Underhill Road and Alpine Drive. No access to Center Street from Riverside Road.

The DOT Project is scheduled to be completed in April 2015.
