In honor of April being designated Distracted Driving Month, Connecticut’s All Star Driver (ASD) is launching an awareness campaign called “Park Your Phone, Drive Your Car,” and asking students and their families to sign a pledge to not use their phone while driving.
Please help us get the word out, and join the movement!
While you can certainly feel free to just put your phone away and not text or call while driving, I’m urging you to encourage your friends and family to take the pledge. Social media is another great way to pass the message along to your friends. In fact, part of the program encourages social media use.
Before you begin driving take a minute and post a selfie letting your followers know you’ll be off the grid for the next ______ minutes, and to call or text later.
I’m attaching a copy of the ASD pledge, and a sheet with some scary distracted driving statistics. Please click on the images below for larger copies.
Don’t wait for a tragedy to change your behavior. Join me this April, Park Your Phone, Drive Your Car!
