HARTFORD – House Republican Leader Vincent Candelora (R-86) has made his leadership assignments for the upcoming session. He has appointed State Rep. Mark Anderson (R-62), a veteran, to take the reigns as the Ranking Member to the legislature’s Veteran’s and Military Affairs Committee. Anderson is looking forward to navigating the issues that come before the legislature relating to active duty military and Connecticut’s veteran population.

“I am honored to be appointed as the Ranking Member to the Veterans’ and Military Affairs Committee. As a veteran, I understand how critical it is to provide support to the men and women who proudly served our country and ensure they can access the benefits they’ve earned through their devoted service. I look forward to working with my fellow committee members to bring forward sound public policy that will benefit Connecticut’s servicemembers,” said Anderson.

The 2025 session is slated to begin on Wednesday, January 8th, when law makers will be sworn-in to their new terms.

The June Drummer ran an opinion piece by Michael Fitzgerald questioning my legislative agenda, specifically HB 5717. Fitzgerald cited the Sandy Hook tragedy that led to Connecticut’s restrictive gun laws, and the recent Granby budget that funds a School Resource Officer (SRO). Of course, that a human being reached such a mental state that he murdered 20 […]
