Anderson, Zawistowski Tour DOT Facility

WINDSOR – On Wednesday morning, State Representatives Mark Anderson (R-Granby) and Tami Zawistowski (R-East Granby) toured the CTDOT facility on East Granby Road in Windsor. The facility allows the department to manage highway projects, conduct emergency infrastructure repairs, and is also home to a full workshop to keep the agency’s work vehicles operational.
Following the tour, the representatives praised the facility and the staff for their professionalism and commitment to public safety.
“We were impressed by the CTDOT’s organization, the professionalism of its staff, and their attention to evolving engineering techniques that make road work safer and more efficient. From winter plowing operations to emergency infrastructure repairs, it’s clear that the equipment is well-maintained, and the workforce is highly dedicated. This facility plays a critical role in keeping our roads safe and our transportation system moving,” said Anderson and Zawistowski in a joint statement.
During the visit, the legislators met with DOT engineers, mechanics, and operations staff to discuss key challenges facing the department, including staffing levels, equipment modernization, and ongoing infrastructure priorities in the region.
Both lawmakers reaffirmed their commitment to supporting CTDOT’s work through legislative advocacy and continued engagement.
