Republicans Unveil Plan on Energy

Hartford – At a news conference on Wednesday morning, Republicans unveiled their plan on energy.
“I took part in a news conference this morning to unveil a comprehensive six-point plan to help lower energy costs. The inaction on this issue has created unnecessary hardship for residents and businesses across the 62nd District. I am hopeful that these points set the stage for legislative action, prior to the conclusion of the current legislative session,” said Rep. Anderson.

The plan would:
Remove Public Benefits Charges from electric billsProhibit agreements that buy electricity at 150 % above the wholesale priceRedefine “Class I renewable energy source” to include anyelectricity generated from a hydropower or nuclear power generating facility
Separate PURA from DEEPEliminate any incentive program that increases electric demand, including, any electric vehicle rebate programStudy ways to increase the supply of natural gas
