Case Encourages Proper Retirement of American Flags

HARTFORD —State Representative Jay Case (R-63) is helping Northwest Corner residents dispose of their worn American flags in a dignified and respectful way. The collection is currently open and will conclude on June 14, which is Flag Day.

The U.S. Flag Code specifies that older American flags, which are no longer in service, must be properly disposed. This critical service is being offered to residents free of charge, in conjunction with The American Legion.

There are three separate drop-off locations in the 63rd District.

Drop off locations are:

• Goshen Town Hall, 42A North Street
• Winsted Police Department, 338 Main Street
• Torrington City Hall, 140 Main Street
