HARTFORD – State Representative Lezlye Zupkus (R-89) welcomed students, parents, and chaperones from the Charles Merriman Society of the Children of the American Revolution to the State Capitol this week.
The group, which included students from Prospect, met with Zupkus during their tour in the House of Representatives chamber. Zupkus spoke with the group about her role as a state representative, and answered questions from the students. Zupkus shared with the students that she, too, could be a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, as her ancestors who immigrated to America in 1608 were also patriots of the American Revolution.
The Charles Merriman Society, C.A.R. is sponsored by the Trumbull-Porter Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution. Members of DAR and CAR are of lineal, blood line descent from an ancestor who aided in achieving American Independence.
