(HARTFORD) — On Friday, March 10th, Representative Lezlye Zupkus (R-89) attended a Public Hearing considering the repeal of the Highway Use Tax (HUT). The hearing, held by the Finance, Revenue, and Bonding Committee, was scheduled to specifically discuss House Bill 5290, An Act Sunsetting the Highway Use Tax.
This bill would effectively repeal the recent HUT which went into effect at the start of this year and provide small and local businesses significant and necessary financial relief. Please see the full video on Rep. Zupkus’ comments today, with highlights from House Republican Leader Vincent Candelora (R-86).
