Cheshire – State Rep. Lezlye Zupkus (R-89) recently joined Food Pantry board members and community leaders to put the ceremonial shovels in the ground for the new 6,000 square foot building on Sandbank Road slated to open November 1.

A fundraising campaign called ‘Feed Our Future’ has been launched to help fund the new $1.1 m facility which will replace the existing food pantry on Railroad Avenue. Each week, the Cheshire Community Food Pantry serves 154 households made up of 325 residents.

The new facility will allow for expansion of services and programs to meet the growing need.
