Sen. Markley and Rep. Zupkus to Host Town Hall Meetings in Cheshire, Prospect

Prospect-Senator Joe Markley (R-16) and Representative Lezlye Zupkus (R-89) will host town hall meetings in Cheshire and Prospect to discuss the 2015 Legislative Session.
“I always look forward to town hall meetings,” said Senator Markley. “They are an excellent way to meet with constituents and hear their concerns.”
“It is important that my constituents know that I am available and accessible to them,” said Representative Zupkus. “With the 2015 legislative session now underway, fiscal responsibility is going to be a focal point. We need to continue to look at ways to better manage our finances and address economic concerns, ensuring a Connecticut that is more-friendly to businesses and encourages job growth. I encourage anyone with concerns to come to the meeting and share them with us.”
The Cheshire Town Hall meeting will be held on Tuesday January 27th from 6:30p-8:00p at the Cheshire Senior Center, 290 Maple Ave.
The Prospect Town Hall meeting will be held on Thursday February 5th from 6:30-8pm at the Prospect Town Hall, 36 Center St.
The events are open to the public, and all are encouraged to attend.
“The legislature faces many important issues this session,” Senator Markley remarked. “Bills relating to state spending, the budget, and transportation will be debated and voted on. The governor will likely propose a new tax, road tolls, to pay for his new initiatives. These things matter to the people of Southington, and it is important for me to listen to their concerns.”
Lezlye Zupkus (www.repzupkus) represents the 89th House District, which includes the towns of Bethany, Cheshire, and Prospect. She can be reached at 800-842-1423 or lezlye.zuplus@cthousegop.ct.gov
