HARTFORD- State Representative Lezlye Zupkus joined dozens of manufacturers at the State Capitol on Wednesday for Manufacturing Innovation Day. Rep. Zupkus met with Douglas Johnson, the president of Marion Manufacturing which is located in Cheshire.
Marion Manufacturing was founded in 1946, for over half a century Marion Manufacturing Company has been a leader in progressive die stamping components, according to their website, www.marionmfg.net.
“I am proud to have Marion Manufacturing located in Cheshire,” said Rep. Zupkus. “We need to create an economic climate that is business friendly and focused on pro-growth reforms to help the manufacturing industry flourish in Connecticut. The manufacturing industry has been the backbone of our state’s economy and we need to work with them to educate the next generation of workers.”
According to Connecticut Business & Industry Association (CBIA), Connecticut is home to 4,011 manufacturing firm, which employs 159,000 workers.
