Rep. Zupkus’ Legislative Proposals Get Public Hearings

HARTFORD– State Representative Lezlye Zupkus announced today that two pieces of legislation she introduced this session will receive public hearings in the legislature’s Transportation Committee on Monday, January 30th, at 11:00 a.m. in Room 1E of the Legislative Office Building.

Rep. Zupkus’ bills included in the public hearing are H.B. 5179 and H.B. 5183.

H.B. 5179, An Act Concerning the Length of Reports of Motor Vehicle Accidents, aims to reduce the workload of police and expenses by shortening the standard motor vehicle accident report form. In addition, H.B. 5183, An Act Concerning the Number of Removable Windshield Placards that May Be Issued, looks to permit a blind person or person with disabilities to obtain two removable windshield placards if a person owns two motor vehicles.

Rep. Zupkus encourages those interested in these proposals to submit testimony to the Transportation Committee at tratestimony@cga.ct.gov and to copy her email address, Lezlye.Zupkus@housegop.ct.gov, on the submission. You can also find more information about how to testify in person by visiting the General Assembly’s website, www.cga.ct.gov. If you need help navigating this process, please contact Rep. Zupkus’ office at (860) 240-8700.
