WATERBURY – State Rep. Lezlye Zupkus joined area lawmakers, professors, and students at Naugatuck Valley Community College on Thursday morning for the Annual Leadership Breakfast.

“Naugatuck Valley Community College is one of the top community colleges in the country due to their excellent staff and professors who inspire students to achieve their best,” said Rep. Zupkus. “Our state is faced with major fiscal problems and one of the main topics of discussion this session will be on the need to restructure and reform state government. I look forward to having these conversations with all stakeholders that will be impacted. Just like you, I have a lot of questions about the consolidation of our community colleges and how it will affect our communities and most importantly our students.”

The keynote speakers at the event were Waterbury Mayor Neil O’Leary, First Selectman of Middlebury Edward St. John, State Rep. Rosa Rebimbas, and State Rep. Geraldo Reyes. Dominic Frasca, an NVCC Accounting Student, class of 2019, was highlighted by the President Daisy Cocco De Filippis, for his successful journey through NVCC.

NVCC serves over twenty communities in the Greater Danbury and Valley area. The College is located at 50 Chase Parkway, Waterbury, CT and in Danbury at 190 Main St. Visit nv.edu for more information.
