Milling and Resurfacing Project, Route 70 in Cheshire

The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CT DOT) is announcing that a milling and resurfacing project will be performed on Route 70 in Cheshire beginning Monday, April 4, 2016.
The project consists of milling and resurfacing a 1.93 mile segment of Rt. 70 in Cheshire. The milling segment of this project is scheduled to begin on Rt. 70 at Rt. 10 (Highland Avenue) on Monday, April 4, 2016. The resurfacing segment of this project is anticipated to begin on Rt. 70 at Rt. 10 (Highland Avenue) on Monday, April 11, 2016 to Friday, April 15, 2016.
This project is included in the Department of Transportation’s 2016 Vendor Resurfacing Program.
LANE CLOSURE INFO
Motorists can expect lane closures on Rt. 70 from Rt. 10 (Highland Avenue) to Cortland Circle. Traffic control personnel and signing patterns will be utilized to guide motorists through the work zone. The regular work schedule for the milling and resurfacing is 6:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. (Monday – Friday). On the first day of milling and paving work will begin at 5:00 a.m. to get through the Rt. 10 intersection.
Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this vicinity.
