The Connecticut Department of Transportation announced that a milling and resurfacing project will be performed on Route 42 from Mountain Road to Route 10 in Cheshire.

The project consists of milling and resurfacing a 1.84-mile segment of Route 42 from Mountain Road to Route 10. Milling is scheduled from Monday, April 19, 2021, to Thursday, April 22, 2021. The resurfacing segment of this project is anticipated to begin on Monday, April 26, 2021 and last until Monday, May 3, 2021.

This project is included in the Department of Transportation’s 2021 Vendor Resurfacing Program.

Drivers can expect lane closures on Route 42 from Mountain Road to Route 10. Traffic control personnel and signing patterns will be utilized to guide drivers through the work zone. The regular work schedule for this project is 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. (Monday – Friday).

Drivers should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Drivers are advised to remain alert, drive cautiously, and to maintain a safe speed when driving in this vicinity.
