Area Legislators Connect with Girl Scouts for ‘World Thinking Day’

WOODBRIDGE- State Reps. Pam Staneski (R-Orange), Lezlye Zupkus (R-Bethany) and Charles Ferraro (R-Orange) celebrated ‘World Thinking Day’ with local Girl Scouts at Amity High School on Sunday, February 21st at the Holy Infant Church School Gymnasium in Orange.
The Girl Scouts of the Amity Service Unit is comprised of all Girl Scouts in Woodbridge, Bethany and Orange. The 2016 theme of Girl Scout World Thinking Day is “Connect.” This World Thinking Day, Girl Scouts and Girl Guides will explore and celebrate the connections that make life happier.

Zupkus said, “The Girl Scouts of America is a great organization which promotes courage, confidence and character in young girls and inspires them to grow and connect with people and the world around them. I encourage these young ladies to continue exploring, learning, and dreaming as they pursue their goals and encourage others.”
Staneski said, “What a great event. The theme of ‘connect’ couldn’t be more perfect. We can all do more to connect as individuals, whether it is with our friends, our community, or our own inner-most passions. These are truly the future leaders of our great state.”
Ferraro said, “These young women showed today what excellent role models they are, we in the community are so proud.”
The celebration of World Thinking Day Girl reminds Girl Scouts to think about Girl Scouts and Girl Guides all over the world. The event is an annual day of friendship, advocacy and fundraising for girls around the world, traditionally the day is celebrated on Feb. 22nd each year.
