Yesterday, I helped lead the opposition to HB5390, a bill which makes it even easier for developers to bully our local towns and use zoning laws as both a sword and a shield.
The bill deprioritizes towns that don’t agree to hand over local zoning control to unelected bureacrats in Hartford and will almost certainly concentrate more rental housing in the hands of big developers who already inflate rental costs. We need to be helping young people and working families to escape the costly cycle of renting and this bill does the exact opposite.
