EAST GRANBY – State Representatives Tami Zawistowski (R-61) and Mark Anderson (R-62) as well as First Selectman Eden Wimpfheimer recently toured Pioneer Optics with company President Ronald Hille.

“Learning firsthand from local employers is important as we try to move our state forward and build a successful climate for business growth,” said Rep. Zawistowski. “I was excited to learn about the products built by Pioneer Optics and their recent growth. I hope they will continue to expand in East Granby and create more jobs.”

“Pioneer Optics is the epitome of American initiative and ingenuity, and we are fortunate to have companies like this in our state and region,” said Rep. Anderson.

The business manufactures fiber optic laser beam delivery systems for medical and industrial purposes. Products are used in laser tattoo/hair removal in addition to being critical components for medical breakthroughs including photodynamic palliative cancer treatments.

The company was founded in East Windsor three decades ago and since relocated to Bloomfield and moved to East Granby in 2021. Today the company employs two dozen workers from across north central Connecticut and is seeking to grow its workforce. For more information visit www.pioneeroptics.com.
