Dear Friends & Neighbors,
Yesterday evening, Governor Lamont told legislative leaders that he wants to convene the legislature for a Special Session before the holidays to vote on the annual bond package of construction projects, a legal settlement for hospitals, resolution of a wage issue for restaurants workers, and most concerning – highway tolls.
The Governor’s push for a year-end vote on a $20 billion 35 year transportation plan
This is a last-minute maneuver that does not allow for full analysis and debate – all while the Governor continues to withhold previously approved town aid that pays for snow removal and other necessary municipal expenses.
