Two state bonding allocations will benefit North Haven Memorial Library and Bailey Road Athletic Complex

NORTH HAVEN – On Thursday, State Representative Dave Yaccarino and State Senator Paul Cicarella celebrated the announcement of two state grants-in-aid to benefit projects in North Haven. The North Haven Memorial Library will receive $249,000 and the Bailey Road Athletic Complex will receive $500,000, both for facility upgrades.

“I am so thrilled to announce these grants to North Haven which will support two pillars of our community and benefit families, residents, and guests to our town. Renovating the ball fields at Bailey Road will help expand on the beautiful improvements to the Middle School and High School athletic complexes and give players, coaches, and families something to be proud of. The improvements to the library will also bolster one of our town’s greatest resources, making the North Haven Memorial Library a destination for readers and learners of all ages, especially growing families,” Rep. Yaccarino said.

“The North Haven Memorial Library is utilized by residents of all generations, and this funding will create a positive impact for each of the library’s diverse patrons. The town plans to match this funding to complete the project, which is a great example of using taxpayers’ money responsibly. Also, the state’s investment in the Bailey Road athletic complex will help to complete this ongoing project to enhance and beautify the Board of Education’s athletic fields. These improvements benefit our students and residents, providing them with space for recreation and competition. Both of these projects will ensure North Haven continues to be a great place to live, work, and raise a family,” said Sen. Cicarella.

The North Haven lawmakers added, “Thank you to Governor Lamont and his team for their consideration of these projects and for their investments in North Haven!”

“These projects are a testament to the work of our local leaders like Lynn Sadowski and Susan Griffiths. With their help and guidance, we were able to accomplish so much for North Haven,” Yaccarino continued. “We have formed such positive relationships with Governor Lamont and his office and are fortunate that they recognize North Haven as a priority because of it.”

The state funding is part of a larger agenda which includes similar projects across Connecticut affecting economic development, public safety, transportation, and more.

The State Bond Commission voted to approve the agenda in a meeting on Friday, June 7th at the Legislative Office Building in Hartford.
