As we are between legislative sessions right now, I have had more time to take advantage of opportunities to visit businesses in the district and across the state. I believe that this is a great way to stay connected with the key issues and concerns of our economy, and support the people who are driving its growth.
It’s also a pleasure learning new things and meeting with the job creators in our state. They are running vibrant businesses that add so much vitality to Connecticut. One of my more interesting site visits was a recent trip to Oakridge Dairy Farm in Ellington. Having grown up surrounded by farmland in Ohio, it brought back many childhood memories.
It was a joy to see Oakridge Dairy in action and learn how we can best support their needs to continue to grow their business. Watch the video below to hear more about what I learned during my visit, and the legislation we are advocating for to help dairy farms like Oakridge all across Connecticut.
