Dear Friends and Neighbors,
As we enter Phase Two of reopening our economy, I was enthused to see this initiative from our governor and the Commissioner of Economic and Community Development and wanted to share this with you all.
The CT Back to Work Initiative provides Connecticut residents seeking employment with job-training opportunities for in-demand fields, as well as assistance with their individual job searches.
This program will not only help workers, but also businesses reopening this summer that are in need of skilled employees to rebuild in the wake of COVID-19. To that end, the state will host an Indeed Virtual Hiring Event from June 16-18 to connect businesses with unemployed individuals in Connecticut.
As a reminder, certain businesses will be reopening today, including indoor dining; outdoor amusement parks; hotels/motels; indoor museums, zoos, and aquariums; fitness centers; libraries; and more. Click here for reopening rules by sector.
The governor has also signed Executive Order 7ZZ, which makes changes to previous executive orders to accommodate today’s reopening.
Lastly, the governor’s office has provided guidance on indoor and outdoor event capacity.
Note: Businesses wishing to reopen during Phase Two must self-certify.
Please stay in touch and stay well. Let me know any questions you may have. I’m happy to help.
