Wilson Prepares for 2019 Legislative Session

HARTFORD – State Representative David T. Wilson (R-66) is joining his fellow colleagues in the Connecticut General Assembly in preparing for the start of the 2019 Legislative Session which convenes Wednesday, January 9. Wilson will then take the oath of office and begin serving his second term as a lawmaker.

“I am looking forward to continuing to work on behalf of the people of the 66th district and the state of Connecticut,” Rep. Wilson said. “I’m looking forward to a busy session and I’m ready to get moving. I encourage anyone who has questions or concerns regarding state government, as well as ideas for bill proposals, to contact me.”

Rep. Wilson has also announced his committee assignments for the 2019-2020 legislative sessions. He has been appointed by House Republican Leader Themis Klarides as Ranking Member of the legislature’s Aging Committee, serving as the House Republican Caucus’ senior leader of the committee.

“I’m honored to have been selected by Leader Klarides to serve as Ranking Member of the Aging Committee for the upcoming term,” Rep. Wilson said. “There will be many important issues that will come before the committee this session, and I look forward to working with my fellow legislative colleagues to develop policies and best practices to ensure the well-being of the seniors in our state.”

House Republican Leader Themis Klarides added, “I am thankful to Rep. Wilson for his commitment and service to our House Republican Caucus. I know that I can rely on him to maintain discipline and ensure that business in the Aging Committee runs efficiently and best represents common sense policies to benefit and care for our elder residents of Connecticut.”

Rep. Wilson has been newly appointed to serve on the Appropriations Committee, stating he is committed to fighting for common sense policies that will help Connecticut businesses grow and thrive while reining in state spending of taxpayer dollars and restoring fiscal health. He has also been reappointed to serve on the Environment Committee for the upcoming two year term.

The 2019 Legislative Session will run from January 9 to June 5.
