Dear Friends and Neighbors,
I wish you and your family a happy Thanksgiving. This uniquely American holiday represents so much to so many across our great country. This year, in the face of adversity, I am humbly requesting that you celebrate this important holiday with family – as it is your Constitutional Right to do so.
No government body or official can infringe upon the freedoms that are granted to us by the United States Constitution. Thanksgiving, regardless of how you observe it, is a deeply religious holiday for many – and an important time to reflect and give thanks to God for the blessings we have received over the previous year.
Yes, 2020 presented challenges that all of us could never have imagined. But, with true American spirit, we have come together and met those obstacles as a united force. We have learned a lot about the virus, and many have done their part to protect our vulnerable and help the less fortunate throughout the pandemic. To restrict private gatherings goes against the very ideals of America’s founding.
As your State Representative, I will never disallow you to engage in your religious and fundamental rights. I wish you and your family a safe and joyous Thanksgiving celebration.
God bless you!
David T. Wilson
