HARTFORD – The Connecticut Business and Industry Association (CBIA) has recently released their ‘State House Voting Records’ annual report for 2023 and State Representative Steve Weir (R-55) has received a 100% score for his votes on key bills that impact Connecticut’s economic growth and business climate.
The Connecticut Business and Industry Association (CBIA) ranked all state lawmakers based on their support for the business community’s positions on 10 important policies. Votes that support the business community’s position would reflect positively, while votes against would result in a lowered score. The bills all affect job creation, small business growth and economic stability in Connecticut.
“I’m pleased to be recognized for my commitment to creating an environment in Connecticut where businesses can thrive,” said Rep. Weir. “Private industry is the lifeblood of our economy, and when we fail to recognize the importance of businesses both large and small in our communities and in our state, we risk creating an environment that is adversarial to business. My votes reflect a commitment to reduce government regulations and make it easier for Connecticut businesses to operate and grow.”
CBIA’s policy initiatives feature in a number of the bills, with those recommendations designed to help alleviate the high cost of insurance, increase workforce development, and create and retain jobs. They are Connecticut’s leading business organization – with a membership comprised of hundreds of small, medium and large-sized businesses around the state.
