House Republican Initiative to Establish a Fallen Officer Fund, Signed Into Law

As a former police officer, I know the brotherhood that comes with putting on the uniform and the dedication each of our law enforcement officers have to protecting and serving our residents.

This session I was proud to stand in support of Public Act 24-27, a House Republican initiative recently signed into law, that establishes a Fallen Officers Fund. Under the worst circumstances imaginable, this fund will aid the families of a law enforcement officer tragically killed in the line of duty by providing financial assistance along with any other benefits for which the officer is eligible.

Passage of this new law shows our law enforcement community that we stand behind them and the work they do on a daily basis to keep us and our communities safe.
