Key Takeaways

  • Tour Highlights Important Services, Issues, and Legislative Ways to Help Organization

Our communities benefit tremendously from the dedicated professionals like Hunter's Ambulance Service, Inc., who's partnership with our community ensures when our residents face emergency situations they receive timely care, especially when seconds and minutes matter the most.

Today, State Representative Christie Carpino and I visited their headquarters in Meriden for an opportunity to learn more about their operations, hear about some of their challenges, and changes they'd like to see at a state level.

One of their challenges includes reimbursement rates for mileage for emergency and non-emergency calls (they differ) and their push for more balanced billing practices. Rep. Carpino and I offered to assist with any legislative initiatives they may want to put forward in an upcoming session.

Hunters Ambulance, a part of Hartford HealthCare Emergency Medical Services, provides all types of specialized medical transportation and pre-hospital patient care. They operate with a fleet of approximately 150 vehicles at six locations across the state.

Thanks to Gregory Allard, Director of EMS Affairs and David Poach, Director of Operations for not only showing us around, it was a very informative and educational visit.
