Rep. Veach Presents Citation to LiveWell in Recognition of the first FINGER Clinic Launch

To kick off Brain Health Day, I revisited LiveWell's Resident Living Center in Southington for their launch of the first FINGER Clinic in the United States.

This model, led by Dr. Miia Kivipelto, is based on the Finnish Geriatric Intervention Study to Prevent Cognitive Impairment and Disability (FINGER), which uses things like exercise, nutrition, cognitive training, and vascular health management—to slow cognitive decline.

If you aren't familiar with LiveWell, they are an apartment style living facility that specializes in programs designed to improve the lives of individuals living with dementia.

To mark this initiative, Senator Rob Sampson and I presented them with a Legislative Citation from the entire Southington delegation.
