On Tuesday, I joined the Lt. Governor and state and local leaders for a press conference to highlight a $360,000 grant Berlin received in June to assist with the cleanup and remediation of 55 Steele Boulevard.

The grant, awarded through the state’s Brownfield Remediation and Development Program, will assist with the construction of 50 mixed income residential units – 30% of which will be deemed affordable, along with 20,000 square feet of commercial space.

I’d like to reiterate my thanks to the Newport Realty Group, Mayor Mark Kaczynski, the Berlin development team lead by Chris Edge and James Mahoney, along with my legislative colleagues, Lt. Governor, and our state and local partners for coming together to support the continued transformation of our downtown area.
